Course Overview

In this course there are 2 sections, “Katsudoo (activities)” and “Rikai (competences)”. In the Katsudoo (activities) part you can gain practical communication skills for everyday situations, such as greetings, eating Japanese food, talking about your daily routine etc. While in the Rikai (competences) part you will systematically study the features of the Japanese language such as grammar and sentence patterns which are necessary for communication. Reading practice of Japanese characters will also be taken up in your first module in addition to listening and speaking practice.

There are 9 modules from the complete beginner’s level to the A2 level. You can continue learning for 9 modules if you would like to. You can also stop your study or take a break at the end of a module, and start it again at the beginning of a module, when a class which suits your level is running. Please refer to the figure below for details on the modules.

There are 6 periods of 6 weeks, or 6 terms in a year. The module for complete beginners will normally be offered twice a year. If you start your study with module 1 in e.g. January, you will have completed all 9 modules of the course in June of the following year at the earliest.
